Self care for Foster and Kinship Carers

Providing education on trauma & practical self care strategies based on attachment, nervous system regulation, mindfulness and attunement.

Who is it for?

This training is for you if:

  • You care for children and young people who have experienced abuse and/or neglect.

  • You are doing your best in meeting the children’s needs but would like to help them move from surviving to thriving in life.

  • You would like to gain confidence in using different skills to manage the children’s trauma related behaviour, without feeling burnt out in the process.

  • You seek to understand the connection between the mind, body and trauma.

What you will learn?

  • How the mind and body respond to trauma

  • Strategies to provide a positive response to challenging behaviours related to trauma

  • Effective relationship building skills

  • Mindfulness techniques

  • Stress reduction techniques

Participants of our Nourished will have the opportunity to connect with other Foster and Kinship Carers in a safe setting.

We are currently developing Nourished as a self paced e-course that will allow Carers to work through each module around their busy lives. Please use our 'Contact Us' page if you would like more information.

My time spent at the Nourished workshops is invaluable for me.
Caring for children is a privilege that can bring huge rewards but caring for children who have complex emotional trauma is a challenge that is not easy.
The Nourished workshops provide me with the tools I need to help my grandchildren to grow through their trauma.
